A Note from Ms.Gordon
Dear 2022/23 Students,
I am so excited to work with you this year! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you. I am passionate about teaching and am happy to be at Ridgeway working with you, the Science curriculum, and the school. This year we will work hard, be curious, and have fun. Along with teaching, I am also passionate about travel. Some of my favourite places to visit have been Budapest, Hungary where I tried goulash and Cuenca, Spain where I saw "casa colgadas", ancient hanging houses on the edge of a cliff. I caught the travel bug early because I used to live in Bergen, Norway with my family where we went on many hikes and explored the fjords. Even when travelling, I am never far from a good book. I love to read and am a member of a book club. Each month we read a book then meet to talk about it. I really enjoy sharing my ideas and hearing others' opinions. I also enjoyed visiting my family in Calgary and at the lake! When I am not travelling or reading I like to spend my time hiking in North Vancouver, having brunch with my friends, and doing DIY craft projects. I live in Vancouver with my partner, Doug. Together we like to explore the city, watch movies, and try new recipes. My parents and brother live in Calgary. I visit often, especially in winter, so I can enjoy the snow! This summer, I spent time travelling locally in BC to enjoy our beautiful ocean and forests. I saw huge bald eagles, cute seals, and had lots of fun camping! I also enjoyed visiting my family in Calgary and at the lake! I am delighted to be your Science teacher this year and I am confident we will create an engaging and caring classroom community together. Welcome back to school! Sincerely, Ms. Gordon |
